Unable to start BESERVER Service; Internal error 14 occurred in object 13.

Exact Error Message
The Backup Exec Server Service did not start. An internal error (14) occurred in object 13.

Details:
After installing VERITAS Backup Exec v 9.x and v10.x for Windows Servers, the Backup Exec Server Service does not start.

The error "Could not start the Backup Exec Server service on Local Computer. The service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error or an internal service error. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator" will be displayed (Figure 1).

When reviewing the Windows application log, the following is displayed (Figure 2):

Event ID: 57802

Source: Backup Exec

Description: The Backup Exec Server Service did not start. An internal error (14) occurred in object 13

This issue is due to a failure to register the Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\schedmgrur.dll library.

To register this file, perform the following:

1. Open a command prompt by clicking Start | Run, typing cmd, and pressing the ENTER key

2. Change the directory to the Backup Exec\NT folder by typing the command cd /Program Files/Veritas/Backup Exec/NT and pressing <Enter>

3. Register the library by typing regsvr32 schedmgrur.dll and pressing <Enter>(Figure 3)

If registered correctly, the message "DllRegisterServer in schedmgrur.dll succeeded" will be displayed (Figure 4).
